New tertiary plant in Jelsa built by Roxel Energy AS

In August 2018 a major fire almost completely destroyed one of the two tertiary production units at Jelsa, the rebuilt-project, which was carried out on a space restricted site, within a working quarry, has now been completed.

The concrete silos only suffered minor damage, leading the construction of the new tertiary plant to be installed on the existing foundations. This led to several H&S challenges that were successfully overcome. Furthermore due to the restricted space, the Jelsa project team faced a number of logistical challenges to keep the quarry running safely without affecting quality and output.

The rebuilt took 18 months to complete, in this period the production was carried out through hired mobile crushing and screening plants.

Production capacity:

The rebuilt plant has a capacity to produce approx. 660 tons of screened products per hour (24/7).

In detail:

• 2 x Liwell screening machines
• 4 x Siebtechnik 2D screening machines
• 2 x Siebtechnik 3D screening machines
• 19 x Heavy Duty conveyors
• 11 x dust filters
• 2 x buildings
