Action points towards sustainability

Every person within the common European market, consumes approx. 1 kilo of sand and aggregates per hour! Sand and Aggregates are part of almost everything that surrounds us every day. It is used as a key constituent building material for housing, infrastructure, energy projects, all which are indispensable in a modern society. Also, renewable energies such as wind energy on land and in water as well as coastal protection cannot be constructed without stabilising stone products.

The demand for sand and aggregates is constantly increasing. Through our 4 Norwegian hardstone quarries, we are well suited to meet the demand in the coastal region of Northern and Central Europe. A region with diminishing resources and no natural occurring hard stone. Due to our efficient and environmentally friendly logistics, we offer a low-carbon solution aggregates to the market. We participate in forward-looking research and development and play an active role in relevant committees of industry and trade associations. We are committed to promote sustainability, environmental and climate protection within our company and our main markets.

The focus of our production is to extract aggregates in the most environmentally friendly way possible. The basis for this is to optimise the use of the resources available. A key part of this is a responsible sourcing with respect to associated dust, noise and greenhouse gas emissions. It is an aim that every ton extracted, is to become a finished end-product, avoiding surplus quantities at the quarry.
